Attention:  Do NOT leave your tax bill payment in the Town Hall mailbox if you want to be assurred that payment is credited in a timely manner.  Your tax bill insert gives the appropriate mailing address, along with the hours of in-person tax collection available at the Town Hall. The Town Hall is not staffed nor is mail checked every day. 
And as a reminder, due to process changes in the USPS service, items dropped in a USPS mailbox may not get post-stamped for 1-3 days, so allow extra time if mailing your payment at the end of the month.  If it is postmarked after January 31st, it is considered a late payment.
